This is a 5' x 8' traditional living room rug that is machine-tufted from cotton and rayon made from bamboo. The backing is a blended mixture of cotton and natural latex.  

Considerably softer and silkier than traditional shag rugs made from wool or synthetic fibers, this modern living room rug has a most-attractive and stylish graphite-gray color that blends exceptionally well with most modern decors.

Weighing only12 pounds, it functions best and feels most comfortable with a pad placed beneath it.                                          

Some initial shedding is normal when the rug is first placed but it's subsequently well-maintained with minimal but regular vacuuming.  A beater brush should not be used unless it can be raised slightly above the pile. This is to avoid snagging of the long shag tufts. If this can't be adjusted or disabled, simply use only the suction attachments. 

Professional cleaning is recommended for difficult stains or heavy soiling. If you choose to clean it yourself, a dry carpet cleaner (HOST for example) should 
work as it can provide a thorough chemical extraction of any dirt or grime. 

For liquid spills, immediately blot without rubbing, using a clean, dry, absorbent cloth. A solution of mild liquid dish soap and water is recommended, being sure to test it on a small,  inconspicuous area of the rug first to ensure it doesn't alter the color.
